Ad Lit is a one-credit discussion group that seeks to advance our graduate students' literary scholarship. Students do not have to be officially enrolled in the discussion group to participate. Ad Lit seeks to bolster our students' professionalization, producing better scholars, critics, and writers. By attending Ad Lit events, you will not only be exposed to professionalization advice and opportunities, but you will also have an advantage to create small workshop groups with whom you will meet regularly throughout the semester (and possibly even beyond the semester), have designated times and spaces to help hold each other accountable for submitting work, and get to know faculty members and fellow graduate students you may not otherwise have the opportunity to meet. Ad Lit has become an inclusive community of literary scholars within the lit track and the graduate English department at large. We look forward to welcoming you to our next meeting!
